EDIT – This is an update from Mark:
I saw the doc yesterday about my eyes, and he wants to do an “enhancement” surgery to correct my vision. But before he does that he gave me some contacts to wear that will replicate the vision after the surgery so we can see if it will help. He wants to do monovision for me – for those who don’t know what that means, one of my eyes will be corrected for distance, and the other for up close. Your brain learns how to combine these two signals and you then can see up close as well as far away without glasses….thats the theory, but he wants to see if it will work for me. If it does, he would correct my dominate eye for close vision, since my work depends on seeing up close (the LCD on the back of the camera, my computer screen, etc.) and my other eye for distance.
Well, I came home Thursday night and put the contacts in, and while it was a little weird, I was able to see much better than i had in a long time. Today I put the contacts in again, and we had the photo shoot. My vision seemed harder today, and I was wondering if it was going to work. If the monovision doesnt work, then my eyes will be enhanced to touch them up for distance, meaning i will have to get a prescription for reading glasses for all up close work.
Tonight i went in to take my contacts out, and discovered that one of them was missing!! So, that means that my vision today seemed weird as i only had one contact in. I know they were both in, but somewhere along the way one popped out!!!
So tomorrow I’ll put them both in and get another test. I need to edit the pictures down from the school pictures we shot today, so it will be a good test of up close work.
BTW – we got some GREAT pics of the kids. I’ll posts some soon. Today was the elementary grades. Next Friday we shoot the Junior High and High School. It will be a blast!!

So excited we are going to be doing school pictures for our son’s school tomorrow and next Friday….tomorrow we get to do the Elementary grades….next week High School. It is a small private school so it shouldnt be daunting…But I am really looking forward to it!!! Should be fun!!!
I could use fun right about now!
Then this weekend we are doing some fun young edgy stuff with some models we are going to go around town and in our studio…our good friend Robin is bringing over her studio lighting!!!! Yay!!! Cause ours is just pitiful!
PS….Mark finally got to see the eye dr. after months of not being able to see clearly either up close or distance since his laser surgery in Sept. They are talking now about doing either monovision surgery or enhancements it all depends on how he sees with the contacts they gave him today to mimic the monovision…
Please pray for him it has been so crushingly depressing for him…he is soooo ready to see clearly again… can you imagine trying to do photography!
God Bless
Love Kerri
