EDIT – This is an update from Mark:
I saw the doc yesterday about my eyes, and he wants to do an “enhancement” surgery to correct my vision. But before he does that he gave me some contacts to wear that will replicate the vision after the surgery so we can see if it will help. He wants to do monovision for me – for those who don’t know what that means, one of my eyes will be corrected for distance, and the other for up close. Your brain learns how to combine these two signals and you then can see up close as well as far away without glasses….thats the theory, but he wants to see if it will work for me. If it does, he would correct my dominate eye for close vision, since my work depends on seeing up close (the LCD on the back of the camera, my computer screen, etc.) and my other eye for distance.
Well, I came home Thursday night and put the contacts in, and while it was a little weird, I was able to see much better than i had in a long time. Today I put the contacts in again, and we had the photo shoot. My vision seemed harder today, and I was wondering if it was going to work. If the monovision doesnt work, then my eyes will be enhanced to touch them up for distance, meaning i will have to get a prescription for reading glasses for all up close work.
Tonight i went in to take my contacts out, and discovered that one of them was missing!! So, that means that my vision today seemed weird as i only had one contact in. I know they were both in, but somewhere along the way one popped out!!!
So tomorrow I’ll put them both in and get another test. I need to edit the pictures down from the school pictures we shot today, so it will be a good test of up close work.
BTW – we got some GREAT pics of the kids. I’ll posts some soon. Today was the elementary grades. Next Friday we shoot the Junior High and High School. It will be a blast!!

So excited we are going to be doing school pictures for our son’s school tomorrow and next Friday….tomorrow we get to do the Elementary grades….next week High School. It is a small private school so it shouldnt be daunting…But I am really looking forward to it!!! Should be fun!!!
I could use fun right about now!
Then this weekend we are doing some fun young edgy stuff with some models we are going to go around town and in our studio…our good friend Robin is bringing over her studio lighting!!!! Yay!!! Cause ours is just pitiful!
PS….Mark finally got to see the eye dr. after months of not being able to see clearly either up close or distance since his laser surgery in Sept. They are talking now about doing either monovision surgery or enhancements it all depends on how he sees with the contacts they gave him today to mimic the monovision…
Please pray for him it has been so crushingly depressing for him…he is soooo ready to see clearly again… can you imagine trying to do photography!
God Bless
Love Kerri

Wow I just left you a long message on here and lost it. Anyways I am sorry about Mark’s eyes and I hope the contacts work so he doesn’t have to go through surgery! I have class tomorrow, so I won’t be able to venture out there. It is our last meeting before Yosemite. We will have a fun and full day of shooting on Sunday though. I need to bribe Andrew to take his senior pictures out there and maybe you guys can help me. It’s so crazy…….he graduates in May and we don’t have any pics yet. I want to send out announcements like I did for Cherina. Do you notice what time I am on here? It’s 2:49 a.m. (like in the morning). I am still on my night shift schedule. What kind of tripod did you get? and where? I have a super heavy Bogen/Manfrotto tripod, but it’s so heavy for me to carry around. I am looking for a new one.
Kerri it looks like you are still up! We need sleep! Anyways I enlarged the collages, thanks and they look better to me.
AM SO TICKLED ABOUT THE SCHOOL PICTURES, ((KERRI))!!!
AND WILL PRAY ABOUT MARK’S EYES.
LOVE, CHERYL
Bless his heart….that would bum me out too! But I have faith that they will straighten it out soon and he’ll be seeing clearly through the lens of life! You guys have a great time doing the school pictures today….I know they will be great…as usual!
Have a blessed day!
Michele
Father God, through the stripes of our Lord Jesus we are healed, so please do apply this to Mark’s eyes. He needs to see clearly for his work and for his life. We know you are the great healer, and that you designed the eyes, so you know what to do — please also guide the doctors if there is surgery, so they get it perfect. Thank you, we love you, Lord, in Jesus name. Amen.
Love to both of you! Gerrie (I’m off to the hospital in 30 minutes)
“Father God, I lift Mark before you and I ask you to heal his eyes Lord.
Thank You for being the one true living God who still heals. We love you Jesus, Amen.”

Hey guys…As always, I am so excited about the opportunitites God has given you to use the gifts He blessed you with! It is such a joy to journey with you via xanga…And I am definitely praying for you, Mark. It is so evident that our Lord’s hand is upon you–that His grace has touched you…And through each trial, HE has equipped you with a deeper sense of who HE is, and yes, HE has fitted you with divine sight to walk through the mists that surround your path. I am so blessed to have met you guys–though not face-to-face, but in the spiritual realm as brothers and sisters in Christ. Yep, His love bridges any distance! Thanks for allowing His love to flow freely through your lives…With much love and many prayers, Paula–click here–
Oh I’m so unhappy that you’re not seeing as well as you should Mark! I’ll be praying for you. And yeah, it would be great to see you two if you come up to Auburn for Brian’s practices! Kerri, we do sing Camptown Races here, but only on Groundhog Day.
You know, it’s just a Mayberry thing to do. Love ya’ll….Kelly May

Sounds like some very interesting & fun projects coming your way! Can’t wait to see the results. Mark, I’m praying even now that your sight will become clear again. God bless you both!

wow what a neat Job to get!!! and I will be praying for marks eyes!! your right a photographer needs his eyes!!!
Yes I got a new camera in February I think is when I got it……..it is a Kodak Z740. It is a small digital camera, but I can buy lenses and filters for it and I love that. It is an easyshare camera so it is like my first step up from a plane jane camera. I only paid $300. for it. But I like the freedom of being able to change the colors of the pics…sepia, b&w, natural and others……….to 10X zooming. It is so fun! Well, Flory is off this morning learning GOLF………PRAY!! lol. My brother has talked him into learning. I just cant see how chasing a little white ball around for 5 hours can be so much fun. I think it is more fun because of the MALE BONDING thing. And Flory needs that……..he has had me 24/7 for over a month. I love him to pieces, but you know…….a girl’s gotta have her time to stay sane! Anyway, Have an awesome weekend. Love you…….Kimi

Kerri, thanks for your comments concerning my dear daughter…I didn’t realize Lindsey danced?!!! How exciting! I will be anxious to hear about her recital! And yes, I always get nervous for her! Of course, I pray a lot, for my true desire is that our Lord always be glorified through her. Her music has brought much joy to my life! With much love and many prayers, paula
