EDIT: Here is our latest wedding slideshow… This was the wedding we shot last weekend when it was 117!! We had a blast (or was it a blast furnace?)

It was a challenging day because of the weather and the fact that I (Mark) dropped our favorite lens…the 15mm fisheye…and broke the lens mount.

Sigh….I’ll be sending that in to Canon to see if it can be fixed…

But the family was such a pleasure to work with – Her Dad put a lot of time into their yard for this wedding, and it was a very sweet setting.

But we enjoyed ourselves and had a great time…it was good to come home and know that we worked hard and met some great people….

    001 Ebbert Family (IMG_0001) title

Okay here is a simply wonderful family that we took family photos of… We had so much fun shooting them…lol! But the best part is when they came over and watched the slideshow which they werent expecting and the parents both cried. Ahhh I love this job!!

There are a lot of pics that seem the same – thats because this was essentially their “proofbook” we put together for them, so they can see it, and go home to look at them in the gallery view to pick which ones they want to order.

    Enjoy the show!

Well we have recovered from the heat of the wedding but we are still dealing with the record heat wave we are experiencing here (Sacramento) … it is predicted to be 113 today! I am really getting tired of this…people have died…I just caught something on  the news about a place that is air conditioned that people can be taken to. There is no reason people should be living here with out air conditioners especially those who health is vulnerable to extreme heat.

As usual Mark is working on getting the photos ready for the slideshow….we took so many! But what else is new? haha….

I have noticed a shift in my commenters…alot of my old friends have moved on and I have noticed a whole new crowd…I hope its not because I havent been able to visit as often as I used to. I understand if that is the case. I also understand alot of ppl probably feel they want more substance than pictures…which I understand too…I have kept my old site Passiondove if you want to keep visiting me and not have to look at pics all the time. We are in a different place and different season…so I guess I should expect different people along with that.

So to all you new people…WELCOME! I hope you enjoy visiting…and to my old friends if you see this, I MISS YOU!

    Have a blessed day!!!!

    Love Kerri

    Desmond & Katrina

    Ledet 1

Yesterday we captured the wedding of Katrina & Desmond. What a neat couple and a great family!  They were so fun.

The wedding was in her parents back yard, and the yard looked wonderful! Her Dad put a lot of time into the yard and it showed.

We can’t wait to show you the images. I’ll have a slideshow from this up buy the end of the week (sooner if I can…) This one is a special treat – Lindsay and Brian also shot with us yesterday, and they got some incredible shots as well, so our slideshow from this wedding will really be a family effort.

We survived the heat – it was 117 degrees yesterday! It’s even hotter today, so we’re taking it easy and trying to stay inside as much as possible. I think it’s 111 already – supposed to be around 116…altho I just picked Brian up from work and the car temperature gauge said it was 120!!!

Kerri got overheated and was really sick when we were in the middle of all the formal family portraits. This was around 8pm and she went and laid down in the car…she hadnt eaten and when our son Brian brought her food she was so nauseous she couldn’t eat…she had a big bottle of water but it just wasnt enough. When you are “on” like that all day you have a hard time finding time to take care of yourself…we made it okay but Brian was remarking all day, “why are we living here?” Maybe he will feel different when he gets paid for the day…!

7/18-EDIT: well as you can see we don’t have a slideshow up yet…we just had too many to go through so it is taking awhile. Bear with us it will be up soon!!

I can’t wait for this one. I am going to post just one picture just to whet your appetite…it is a pretty non descript shot so you will just have to wait and come back…and see them for real!

    N&S after

Oh, one question! If you were getting married and planning your wedding today…what song would you pick to walk down the aisle to? I need some inspiration! Now I do like some of the traditional stuff but I am looking for upbeat stuff or at least someting in the recent past…something that you thought now that is one beautiful song! If I was getting married again I would use that song! Okay, dont be shy and leave me some good stuff okay? Maybe you will hear it on the upcoming slideshow!!!

    Love , Kerri

  • Nick & Sarai are married!!

EDIT (by Mark) : Nick and Sarai were such a neat couple. It was an honor to be part of their wedding. I’m so excited to show you the pics. Can’t wait!! (So pray for me tonight that I don’t get too tired!)

We have a “few” pics to sort through, but I hope to have a slideshow up soon. Watch here for it! It was such a blast to be shooting this wedding as a family!!  Not only were Kerri and I shooting, but Lindsay and Brian also shot! They got some great pics, and they will definitly have images in the final cut – what a great family business!

Nick and Sarai are married now…May God bless them and may they have a long and happy marriage! What a fun wedding it was too! We knew quite a few of the people there so that made it really special for us. The Mother of the Bride was a dear friend and one of my prayer partners for many years. We would meet once a week for prayer and we would start out right after the kids went to school and stop right before they finished. We were intercessors for our church and God gifted us with the ability to pray all day like that. The other gal that was part of that group was there too! But guess what we didnt even get our picture taken together!! Mother of the Bride moved to Washington State recently and so that really would have been a special shot to have!

We are so exhausted! We took way too many pictures! 4 photographers who knows how many Gigs we used! Poor Mark is going to go bananas trying to get this job done! We have 6 days before our next weddding so hopefully we will have it all boiled down to the best of the best and put a slideshow together by then. The temperature was 103 it was an outdoor wedding so that makes it that much more taxing on us. It was a large venue as well. Lots of acreage to traipse across to get from one place to another. I went barefoot all day! The one thing that didnt hurt when we got home at 11:45 pm was my feet! haha….my back hurt so bad that I immediately went downstairs and got into my back massage chair (my Mother’s Day gift!) Just as I got in tho I felt a piercing sensation in my right foot and almost immediately blood began dripping off my foot! Mark came down and saw that I had stepped on a sharp piece of metal. We are having alot of electical work done in the studio so it must have been tracked in and I unwittingly sliced my foot on it. Was barefoot all day and didnt hurt myself once and I come home and got sliced within 2 minutes! They do say more people get hurt in and around the home more often than elsewhere…I guess so!

I cant wait to see all that we got…the bride…Sarai….is a beautiful girl as you will see. She reminds me sooo much of a blonde Julia Roberts. Her husband Nick is a great guy and they are sooo in love…I really pray for a long and happy life together and that God would be at the center of it…

If you want to see their engagement slideshow look on the left side of this site and click Lydell Photography and you will see a slideshow link at the top when you get there just click Nick and Sarai Engagement…and you will see the lovely couple….gosh it seems like forever since we had those done! We have come a long way since then…I hope! lol. But I do love them…they were our first engagement couple. I also believe those were straight out of the camera without any touchips or actions or anything….but I better double check with Mark on that… Uh…oh…. I am not sure where that slideshow is but I will find out and make sure it gets up there for you to see…

I am up a bit early today wondering if I should go to the gym before we head to church but I am sooo tired I just cant get it together to even think about going! I feel like I worked out from 2-11:00 pm straight! Almost 10 hours! There was that big thick slice of chocolate wedding cake that I managed to eat yesterday that I feel guilty about eating…so that is my main motivation to not let that cancel out all the calories I burned off working yesterday!

Everyone else is still sleeping! hahaha……at least I am up!

Okay, well all I can say is keep checking back we may post some of the pictures we got until we get a slide show up…..I hope some of the Infrared photos came out! I tried to be sure to take a few….

Be a blessing to someone today!

    Love Kerri

  •  Edit: I just posted a new post on my other site “passiondove” so if you are into cool science stuff (pictures) go check it out! Here is the link …

Seriously I love the infrared camera! Brian has a good eye so I think he will be Infrared Man around these parts! lol…

Something about this one really captures my attention…

    IMG_9302

    I like this one, too….

    IMG_9270

I just love the tractor ones…the color ones are ok but I love what the IR does to them…it has a cpompletely different feel to them! I love the reflections too!

    IMG_9263

This is the venue for the wedding we are doing tomorrow! Isnt it beautiful?! The spot that is covered in plastic is where the ceremony will take place the sprinklers were on the entire time we were there so we couldnt get out there like we wanted but we got plenty of other shots… you can see the sprinklers if you look closely. Not sure what ISO he had on this one but I think it was too high…he probably forgot to change it after leaving the shade…

    IMG_9201

We are very excited  to do our wedding tomorrow! It gets real busy around here getting our equipment together and thinking about our shots and who will be positioned where, etc. As well as the bigger picture of two people becoming one! It is always a miracle to me…

    Have a blessed weekend!
