This is the latest wedding I shot – this one was with Randy at Borel Photography. He is such a great guy, and shooting with him is a blast. In fact in about 3 hours I’m off with him again to shoot another wedding! Visit his siteand tell him hello!. You can also see the show he did for this wedding here.

I’ll get some of those pics posted sooner than this one! We’ve been swamped the past couple weeks, so I didnt get to this as soon as I wanted to.

Jeremy and Brianne had a great wedding – you can see how in love with each other they are. The reception was at a beautiful golf course, so the scenery was great, and we even got to take off in golf carts for a mini-shoot! (Note to self – don’t ride on golf cart with Randy anymore…)

I am heading out to the Women of Faith Conference tonight at the Arco Arena…with my good friend Maria and my darling daughter Lindsay….will be good to go…the theme this year is on Contagious JOY!!! Boy we can all use some of that these days eh? Wish I could bring back pictures but they frown upon cameras at these big events…wish I had a press pass now that would be cool!!! I will post sometime this weekend so I can share with y’all! Have a great weekend!!!

    Love Kerri

I ran across this beautiful cinematographer’s site today and I just had to post it for you all to see…
    H
ere is her link be prepared with tissue. It is a tribute to the loss of a brother-in-law and father of a bride a month before her wedding. It is sad but it is beautiful and it will defintely make you find your kids and family members and tell them you love them and hug them real tight.

  • Back at it…

We decided that my home office layout wasnt working very well. We spent most of the weekend rearranging the office – which means moving furniture into various combinations until you find the one that works, followed by stringing what seemed like miles of cables, wires, etc.to hook up my computer for the digital darkroom, studio office, etc. Whew! It realy works much better now, but nothing is where it used to be, and I’m having to decide where to put and use things now. All this in the midst of keeping up with client orders, job production, etc. My back hurts….

So now we move on to finishing up some of our weddings, and preparing for the next. Kerri is in the middle if designing an album for Katrina and Desmond. They chose such great pictures I know their album will be great!

We also are finishing up some framed prints that Jaimy’s parents ordered from her baptism. Those pictures were just astounding – God was really with us that day, as the images we got were so good you know God had to be involved.

We’re meeting with a couple of really cool sounding couples tomorrow to talk about their weddings. If we book them, I’ll post more information!

Next week I’m scheduled to go to Las Vegas to help out with an engagement shoot, and later in October we are travelling to southern California to attend the seminar Scott Roberts and Lastoria Photo are putting on – it is going to be so good I can’t wait!

Kerri is also busy working on her project for the November Crisis Pregnancy Dinner banquet – her part in it is inspired, and if you have been reading her posts on it you know she is gathering photo talent from around the county to help with this – I cant wait to see the final results! (But I may not be able to attend the dinner as there is a wedding I may be shooting the same night…)

Lots of work, and not enough hours in the day. But I still can’t believe I get to do this for a living. Everyone should get to do what they have a passion for.

  • We are Home!! Yay!

EDIT: We are rearranging the workspace for Mark it just wasn’t working. So of course one thing leads to another and lets just say I am now into cleaning kitchen cupboards….don’t ask!

Haha…. we are up to our eyeballs in moving furniture and stuff….so pics are down the list for a day or so…..maybe we need to find out what vitamins Randy is taking so we can get everything up in 24 hrs like he does!!!

In the meantime we got the neatest thank you email from Jeff that made me cry…God really is in everything we just gotta look harder or better or just be more open to what He is doing even when it hurt or frustrates or annoys us. There is always a reason for everything…if we can just see our lives as belonging to Him and that He is in control we can really dispense of so much of the stress and anger and manipulation, can’t we…??

    God bless you!!!

    Kerri

Were home! We got home about 7 pm our arrival should have been around 4! The train was late coming from Chicago to pick us up…. plus we had to yield to every train between Reno and Sacramento! Which was a real headache for alot of people one of which was a pastor from Nevada who was on his way to pick up a car for his wife in Martinez, Ca. He was so stressed and the guy he was buying it from was not being very understanding or patient! Jeff noticed I was reading a Richard Foster book and struck up a conversation with me in the middle of his stress and we found out his dilemma and decided we could help him out. So as soon as we got off the train last night we all hoofed it to our house (10 min walk) and Mark and Jeff took off in our car to Martinez to get the car and I took his son Josiah and his 2 friends to The Underground where they had tickets to see Mutemath and a couple other bands, a surprise for Josiah’s birthday. Since Dad couldn’t use his ticket because of all the delay our daughter Lindsay got to go. After picking up the car and getting back into town they swung by Jamba Juice and picked up Brian from work and then onto the church to get the rest of the gang. God really works things out doesnt He??!! We were amazed how we were so able to help them out in every way they needed and it blessed us to do it! We said good bye to them just before midnight as they drove off in their new (used) car for his wife. Which is by the way a surprise for her! They had a room reserved downtown Sac for the night and probably got up early this morning and drove straight home! With no stops along the way! haha….

We are busy today so we wont get the pics up probably until tonight..so check back then….

Hope you are having a wonderful weekend!

    Love Kerri

Thank you all for the birthday wishes!!!!!!!!!!! I truly felt blessed!!!

  • Homward bound, we hope…

Friday morning, and we will be leavnig today

We relaxed yesterday  morning and met our friend Gay for lunch.

She took us to her office where she works, which was beautiful! Then off to eat. Here’s a shot I snagged of Kerri from the back seat.

We didnt really take a lot of pics (Collective **gasp** goes up from the crowd) but I did walk around the street fair again yesterday while Kerri was resting. Lots of kids here – i love seeing kids out at a fair – they all look like they are having so much fun!

    This was a budding ohotographer:

This one was just diggin being pulled around by his Dad:

Last night we went out to a comedy clud – the first guy was so-so, but the second one had us rolling on the floor – i dont think I’ve heard Kerri laiugh like that in a long time.

He was like a cross between Jerry Lewis and Seinfield. The faces he could make was the best part. his name was Pete George. It looks like most of his site is under construction, and doesn’t really show how funny he was, but trust me. We know funny.

Just talked with Amtrak  Due to track delays, we are at least 4 hours behind schedule! So, we dont know when we leave yet. It could be much later today. The only problem is we need to check out of the hotel at 1, so who knows what we do then. Yesterday was BEAUTIFUL, but today is cold and windy – not great weather to be out walking. So we will be back home later today, but not when we thought we would. Thats ok, because WE’RE ON VACATION!

    See you all soon!

  • Off we go!

    http://www.lydellphoto.com/slideshows/reno3

OK, here are a few pics. This is a rough cut, as I’m on my laptop without my Photoshop CS2 and actions, etc. and we’re trying to not spend the entire morning on the computer….this is supposed to be a vacation. I need to go take a nap, resting is tiring…

When we arrived in Reno yesterday we found the downtown all shutdown for an annual motorcycle show. The pics in this show of the cycle is one that costs $70,000! (It has hydraulic lifts for the seat and lots of other custom goodies.) The dog was an amazing find. The poor owner never got very far as he was getting stopped about every 10 feet with someone asking to take pictures.

Last night I surprised Kerri by having some old friends of ours join us for dinner. Gay & Jimmy. She used to work for me at my law office, and has been a great friend since then. We went to a Japanese restaurant that put on a great show. There was SO MUCH FOOD my stomach hurt!

At the end of the night there was an open air concert out front of the hotel. I never heard of the band, nut they were doing some GREAT CCR  covers, and they sounded just like them. At first I thought is was John Fogerty singing until I walked around to see them.

Today we’re relaxing after sleeping in. We’re meeting Gay for lunch, and will take off for some pictures this afternoon. Today is Kerri’s birthday, so we’ll go out to dinner and try to catch a show tonight.

Tomorrow morning we get back onto the train to head back home, and will post more when we get back.

  • Kerri’s Birthday!

    Kerri-BirthdayKerri-BirthdayKerri-Birthday

Today I am stealing my sweetie away for a few days.

It’s her birthday tomorrow, and we need a couple days of rest and relaxation. (as well as opportunities to take pictures, of course…)

This morning we are being picked up at 11:00 to be taken away to our departure point!

She has no idea where we are going, and you’ll have to tune in to our blog over the weekend to see where we went, unless I can get some pictures uploaded while we are traveling. Randy knows, but I dont know if he will tell or not!

We’ll see you when we get back on Friday!! Have a great week!!

    Mark

  • Thank you!!!

What a surprise I received for my birthday today!!!
Its not even my birthday until Thursday!

Randy came over today and he and Mark went to Mel’s
for a sundae and I opted to stay home
and stay away from the extra calories….when Mark
came home he walked in and handed me
this very heavy box!! He said it was from Randy! I was
like WHAT!? Are you kidding me?

I want to say THANK YOU TO RANDY!!! I am so
excited to use it! As you can see it gets
real tall!! I think I might need a stool to use it that high! lol!
