Jaimy’s Baptism!
EDIT – new pics posted below slideshow!!
Here is the slideshow from Jaimy’s Baptism! This was such a fun shoot – be sure to look through the image gallery at the end of the show – some of the shots of her are stunning. Thank you God for blessing our day!
Here is the slideshow from the baptism we shot this last weekend. Like Kerri wrote in the last post, this was a VERY special ceremony, and we were honored to be a part of it.
It seems that in todays society everyone is in a hurry to grow up, and children want to take part in everything as soon as they can, so there is no sense of waiting and preparation. But in Jaimy’s case, her parents instilled in her the value of waiting until you are ready. That is why this was so special – you can just see on her face after she comes out of the water how much joy is in her heart!
Enjoy! Be sure to look through the gallery at the end – God really blessed us with some stunning shots -my favorite was in our last post.
I promised Jaimy I would post a before and after shot of something I did. I
n one of our previous posts from a wedding at a winery, I posted a shot of wine barrels I “Personalized” with the Bride and Grooms name.
Here is a shot that Lindsay took of Jaimy’s shoes during the baptism:
and here is what I did with it:
Isn’t Photoshop fun? Have a great day!!

excellent shots of the baptism! looks like you were on rapidfire for a bit. =]
the last one reminds me of shots like THIS
nice location, too! when i was baptized, it was in a little tub above the stage. my pastor proceeded to dip me down width-wise and bopped my head on the side of the tub. that was memorable….heh
i’ve been in oklahoma for a few weeks now in limbo just waiting for my next training in georgia. i get to go home in a couple weeks before then. as for posts…i’ve been busy trying to finish up editing some (read: LOTS!) wedding pics i took for friends back in may before i left for this whole trip. it was my first (and last for a while) wedding shoot, and i learned a lot from it, while having fun. still deciding on what field to specialize in, but i’m definitely leaning towards human subjects. all in God’s timing =]

That was a great shot! It does remind me of that. I was amazed I was able to capture her just at that moment when the water was still all over and beginnning to pour off – the sheen is a cool look.
I actually wasnt using motor drive – I was just clicking off single shots as fast as I could. With my telephoto I find that when I’m on motor drive i get blurry shots if I’m not on a tripod, so squeexing off shots after each other gets me better and crisper results.
When will you post some shots from your wedding? (Did you post them and I missed them?)
Nice slide show. You could feel the presense of the Spirit pouring out in all your shots. Very special.
i’ll post them sometime soon. i’ve been making a lot of headway w/ them lately. only 2 more folders to go!

RYC-Mark…Yes, we live in Boulder, which is close to Jamestown. We have so many places we want to explore, including that little town, as we moved down here from N. Dakota a year ago. We love it here in CO. Nice hearing from you
That slideshow was really sweet. A great job of capturing such an important step in her walk with the Lord.

Mark & Kerri, This is truly inspired me to wait a little longer to have my children baptized. We were told they were baptized in the orphanage, so we’ve been wanting to do it here in the states as well. They’ve been home 4 1/2 years and we still haven’t done it yet. I just haven’t felt it was the right time. This slideshow and your post has made me feel that it’s okay to wait. Jaimy looks absolutely stunning and so at peace. She is truly a beautiful girl. ~ Dawn
Ps BEAUTIFUL Photos!!! You certainly captured the day perfectly!!!
