  • Album Showcase

Kerri and I decided to go through our weddings from this year and use them to put a Wedding Album together.

    I
t turned out to be a “Best Of ” type adventure.

So enjoy the “best of lydell photography 2006.

Once the show is over (or anytime during the show) you can click on the “domino” looking button on the bottom right to view the album spreads in thumbnail mode, then click any spread to view it up close two pages at a time. You can then click on play to restart the show.

This program looks similar to the slideshows we’ve posted before, as it’s made by the same people.

This is “Album Showcase” by Gary Fong.

It’s a great program to demo albums for clients so they can see them and make any changes.

  • A Great Idea for Christmas….

Are you looking for a great idea for

    Christmas ?

I love this idea and I have donated in the past in honor of my parents who are gone now. Not only do I feel a tremendous lift by doing that but its such a great way to help others. If you have kids its a great way of showing them that giving is better than receiving!

  • Cowboy Wedding

Last week I had the honor of helping Randy out with wedding at Arden Hills. He has a slideshow up on his site – go visit!

At the wedding and the reception there were all these cowboys!! (The grooms family is in the rodeo business.)

So what do you do when you go to a cowboy wedding but don’t see the cowgirl? Well, you look hard into your pictures and find her!!

I took these two pics at the wedding:

So, I went into my digital darkroom, took out my digital scissors. Here is the animation showing and leading up to the final image:

  • Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!!!!!!

This is from the engagement shoot we did last week with Karen and Eric. I had coffee and chocolate late last night so I put my insomnia to good use by finishing this show for them for Thanksgiving.

Our daughter Lindsay also went on this shoot with us, and many of these pics were taken by her – she is developing a great eye for photos!

They are getting married next July at the Vizcaya in Sacramento, and it will be a beautiful wedding!

  • Jaimy

Here is the slideshow from the photoshoot we did for Jaimy – you may remember her from the baptism slideshow a few months ago.

She is an AMAZING dancer and is applying to Julliard. She needed some headshots for her application. Of course we couldnt just take one picture…

This is one of the pics I was working on, and I thought it would be fun to put together images of the steps along the way. While I don’t claim to be an expert photoshop retoucher (is that a word?) It’s fun to see what you thought was a good image turn into a great one with a few clicks of the mouse.. .

I also noticed she had 2 catch lights in each of her eyes in the first two photos so I removed one of them…looks alot better!

  • Made it through yesterday! Long day but I took my vitamins and I was fine. Poor Mark coming off a big wedding yesterday is wiped out. I am abit sore myself!

Church was a breath of fresh air….I love going to Bayside….Pastor Ray taught on WORRY! It really was phenomenal….

Anyone worrying about anything??? Here are my notes:

    LIVING WITH FAITH AND CONFIDENCE

    Matthew 6:25-34

(Jesus on Worry, Anxiety, Fear and Dread)

    1. Worry Distracts :

“Therefore do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink or about your body what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes?” Matthew 6:25

We are more worried about the externals than the internals and eternals ….

    2.Worry Devalues:

“Look at the birds of the air, they do not sow or reap or store away in barns and yet your heavenly father feeds them . Are you not more valuable than they?” Matthew 6:26

    3. Worry Doesn’t Work:

“Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?”
    Matthew 6: 27

    4. Worry Dishonors God:

” And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin., Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you, of little faith.” Matthew 6:28-30

Most Christians are being crucified on a cross between two thieves, yesterday’s regret and tomorrow’s worries!

How To Make It Through A Storm

    1. Relax your response- Storms happen!

    facts about storms:

*storms are inevitable- James 1: 2 says, “when you face trials”.

*storms are unpredictable- Matthew 6:24 says, “Without warning a furious storm came up”

*storms are impartial- Matthew 8:24 says, “He sends the rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.”

    COMMON REACTIONS TO STORMS

    *Anxiety
    *Panic
    *Helplessness
    *Hopelessness

“Why are you so afraid?” Mark 4:40   “Teacher don’t you care?” Mark 4:38

We can get stuck at anyone of these places…
but we we can have peace instead…

    *REMEMBER GOD’S CLOSENESS*

Then Jesus got in the boat and His disciples followed Him. Mark 4:23

But their eyes were on the storm…

“FEAR NOT, for I have redeemed you. I have called you by name, you are mine. When you pass through the waters I will be with you ad when you pass through the rivers they will not sweep over you!”

    Isaiah 43:1-2

    *REST IN GOD’S CARE*

The disciples said to Him, “Teacher dont you care if we drown?” Mark 4:38

It was their unbelief that caused them to fear and that fear made them question whether or not Jesus cared.

“Cast all  your anxiety on Him because HE CARES FOR YOU!”

    *REFOCUS ON GOD’S PROMISES*

He (Jesus) said to His disciples, “Let’s go over to the other side of the lake” Mark 4:35

“Jesus got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves” Quiet! Be still!” then the wind died down and it was completely calm. Mark 4:39

“The men were amazed and asked, “what kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey Him?” Matthew  8:27

Read the whole story in context  in Mark 4:35-41…since God’s word is living and powerful it will speak to your heart things that aren’t even written here…

    ****************

Worry is so automatic and habitual that it worries me that I don’t do anything about it from day to day and year to year…they pile up and cause nothing but harm. If you want freedom from worry pray with me today that God will open our eyes to His words of truth that are above and beyond our daily worries….let’s cast it all off today!

“An anxious heart weighs a man down”

    Proverbs 12:25

  • Busy Sunday!!

Sunday we have a super busy day! Church in the morning….YAY!!! Then out to lunch with Dave and Kelly.

From there we have an Engagement PhotoShoot…those are sooo much fun in my opinion. We get to break the ice with the bride and groom. We get to know each other a bit better. Plus it is just a more relaxed and casual atmosphere…

After the engagment shoot we get to go to my brother’s house for dinner…they just moved here to town so we are looking forward to having them around!!!

Well Mark just got back from shooting a wedding with Randy…it’s late and we are both wiped out from our day…I spent mine on the computer getting all the best of our stuff to make some albums.

    Have a great Sunday!!!

  • Taking a break today….

Ever have one of those days???
