  • Whats on deck?

Good morning!!! We are packing up the car this morning to do school pictures so I just have a moment! We have a few things coming up so be sure to come back and check them out. Later today…we will post up our son’s first date pictures. With the help of Randy at Borel Foto we have pictures! Randy owns this terrific limo ( you shoould hire him!). He picked up Brian here at home while we were at Rancho Murietta doing a shoot. Fully dressed as a chauffer he then drove to Katie’s house. Surprising her! She did not know a limo was showing up. They had a great time at her Homecoming then onto Sunsplash and Starbucks then to see a movie. I am still freaking out that my son had his first date…is it different with Mothers and Sons? Not that I didnt freak out with my oldest daughter but I dont remember feeling quite like this. I love my daughter dont get me wrong! But it was just different!!!

  • 102 Years!

    Meet Nana

My sister’s husband Mike’s grandmother just turned 102 and we stopped by the nursing home to see her. She is a sweet woman and altho she has moments where she is lucid she has lost her ability to remember anyone except for her grandson Mike. It was so nice to see people who came as far as San Rafael to visit her. That had to be over a 2 hour drive.

She has lived a long time! Wish I would have taken the time to sit down and interview her about her life when she was still lucid.

Love your grandparents and be sure to visit them. Nana’s family has been there for her for everything she has ever needed…. even when she doesn’t know they are her family anymore.

  • Before & After – finding hidden details

Here are some before and after from  the senior portrait shoot we did for our niece last week.
I wanted to show you how we found and enhanced hidden details in her pictures.

Chelsea wanted an urban look to her photo’s so we went to an area of town with some interesting walls.

This first one had some grafitti on the wall.

    BEFORE
    Chelsea-5D-(IMG_8242)-045

I changed the grafitti to match her initials:

    AFTER
    Chelsea-023

This second one had some scratched grafitti on the wall.

    BEFORE
    Chelsea-20D-(IMG_9718)-013

When I pulled up the original I saw the heart inside of it, so is took away the rest of it so only the heart remained.

    AFTER
    Chelsea-026

These are subtle changes, but ones that I felt made a real difference in the final image Putting her initials in the first one personalized the picture for her as well.
Sometimes you don’t need dramatic changes to makie an image into something memorable

  • Meet our niece Chelsea!

Meet Chelsea! She is our neice who is about to graduate and has a birthday coming up….so what better way to celebrate her life!? We had alot of fun taking her out all over the area and we plumb wore her out! We have learned a lesson in long shoots! Break it up into two days or the poor model starts gettng glazed over!! lol!

    Isnt she beautiful?

She was game for just about anything we threw at her…to get those shots! Not bad for her first time modeling for our cameras!!!

Hope you like these Chelsea! I think the pics reflect the urban look you wanted!

    Love you,
    Uncle Muck and Aunt Kitchen

  • Before & After…

Several poeple have asked us to post some examples of our before and after. These are from the Engagement shoot we did recently for Brian and Kara. These are my two favorite shots of the day, which is why I chose them.

I just loved the way this captures their romance as well as put a
    beautiful background behind them.

I took this with my 20D:

    Canon 5D, 1/100 @ F3.5, ISO 200, Focal length 28mm, Fill flash with Canon 580

My favorite part of this was not taking it, but going into PhotoShop!
Notice all the people and the building on the far side of the lake.

Kerri took this with her 5D and a fisheye which made gave the lake a nice round look.
