My sister Lorri and my daughter Lindsay and I spent most of the day and late into the evening decorating Kelly’s house for the Baby Shower.
I took a quick shot of the tree while we were decorating… I wish I had taken one after we finished the tree and the fireplace mantle. Today we are going back to finish up all the other details. The food tables and the rest of the house…
I didn’t use any flash…if you know me you might know I do not like using any flash unless I have to…I like the warm ambience of a flashless photo. Unfortunately it can cause alot of noise, but fortunately I own a Canon 5D which are great for low light situations and if you have a great lens like a 2.8 you really can get some great low-light images…

Looks beautiful Kerri! hope it was fun as well . I always love to hear christmas music when putting up the tree it’s knda a family tradition.

I’ve been such a scatter brain lately that I can’t remember if I came by and told you that your check arrived on a couple of days ago. If I already did….great….I’m not losing it as bad as I thought I was….but sadly that means my memory has gone further south. HAHA! Enjoy your day!!

The warmth really adds to the christmas feel too.
I think the low noise levels in low light are what gives Canon the advantage over it’s rivals.
Its funny… I want a Canon 5d…but when I looked at old family pictures of the past. The quality of film blows away any digital camera we own (maybe not the medium format digital) but regardless, I could go out and buy a $300 film camera made by Canon and have better quality than a 5D.
I’m so glad you are enjoying your 28mm lens. Funny thing… out of allllll the lens I sold, I only kept two. My 28 because I loved the “documentary” style look and the 85mm. I’m still looking for a zoom. I haven’t figured it out yet. LOL.
Me again.. I forgot to tell you I look forward to the baby shower photos!

BTW I read about your lens! I am so glad everything turned out O.K. I need to find out what insurance you have for your equipment. I have to have it for my leased equipment by 12/20.
I love that picture. It would just be too washed out with a flash. I have some pics of our tree on my site, and I didn’t use a flash for that, either. But there’s enough lights on that tree, that I never would have needed it, anyway.
