We spent the evening having a wonderful dinner and then a movie to celebrate a friend’s son 18th Birthday….The dinner was sooo good! The movie we saw was The Pursuit of Happyness. I just loved this movie. The absolute determination and commitment this man had really touched me. So many people find it so easy to just walk away especially when it gets tough. I found myself thinking at what point is this guy going to get a break? This was almost at the end of the movie! I also loved the movie because it was shot in SF. I once drove to SF with a friend to attend  Glide Memorial Church which is the church they have to line up at to find a place to sleep. My heart broke at some of the lengths this man had to go to keep going…I wont give any more away if you havent seen it and plan to. I just loved Will’s Smith’s son and the relationship they had in the movie. He almost stole the movie from his father!

Well still not sure what we plan to do tonight. Probably will break out some games and make some hot cocoa ….and as usual have my husband wake me on the couch to tell me its the New Year….haha….

Have a safe evening!!! Stay off the road if you can!

    Love Kerri

  • Hey Kerri, the question you asked is not “snoopy”. I ask myself the same question every day. For now it is just a hobby I have never charged anyone or sold a print for anything I do. I have a good job as the director of development at Baptist Bible College in Clarks Summit PA. It gives my wife and I the income to keep her at home and for me to have expensive hobbies like photography. My wife and I also travel a great deal due to my position for the school so that enables me to take pictures in places that many can not get too. Dilema #1 is that I don’t want to do weddings and that’s where the $ is. I like Fine art and that market is pretty much hard to get into especially living in northeastern PA. I love wedding photography but that’s not my passion. My passion is for moody images that invoke emotion. I want to take pictures that make people feel emotions that they did not even know they had. Unfortunatly, there is no market for that so unless God opens up a huge door it will always remain as such.

  • Kerri in response to your comment on my picture. I am ashamed to say that photoshop does most of the work I have a wacom tablet and I dodge and burn the skies the original looks much more natural than what you see when I am done with it. that particular picture took me about 5 hours to complete in photoshop. I worked on it for a week a little at a time
