Shhh….these are a surprise for my sister’s birthday which was Jan. 2nd. So Lorri if you see this do NOT scroll down! You have to wait until Saturday!
In my last post on Nana’s passing I wanted to share who Nana was related to. My sister’s husband Mike is Nana’s grandson and the lady in the front is Fran who is Nana’s daughter. We took pictures at Kelly’s at Christmas and this was so hilarious we had to make a storyboard! Do you remember my post where I was an elf? Well they all watched it about 10 times at Christmas so when it came time to make some of these guys smile, I lifted my leg in the position I had it in the elf link and these are what we got…I think that tickled Fran’s funny bone…lol!!!
Left to Right: Lorri, Will, Mike, Fran and Sara
This one just makes me smile and sigh…I just love it…
We put a little border around it so it can be framed without cutting much more of Mike from the photograph.

oh I love these photos!
hahaha, yeah, I was on the computer at the time that your post notification came to me
OSP West is going to be Feb 9th-11th in Pismo Beach. Kinda a drive, but it will be a fun adventure for Chris and I. We have never attended any workshops, conventions, conferences, ANYTHING like this before, so it should be a ton of fun. Yeah, I was hoping it would be SF also, but no such luck
We are actually in Roseville too. Right on the border of Roseville and Citrus Heights actually (literally a block from CH).
No we won’t be a WPPI, do you have to belong to go? I’ve heard all about it, and it sounds wonderful. But I just launched my bus. in September (4 months ago) and can’t afford two trips in such a short period of time. Hopefully we can go in the future though.
Oh wow Pismo Beach! We actually have timeshare down there… IF we werent going to WPPI in March we would totally consider going!
No you dont have to be a WPPI member to go. We are so excited to meet alot of ppl we have met on OSP and Xanga that will be there…
Do you do portraiture only or do you do weddings as well? So you just launched in 06 too? We launched in Feb. 06. Coming up on our 1st anniversary!
You probably live between my sister and I. She lives in CH.
We like taking field trips to SF, Tahoe , Yosemite when we can. Are you guys interested in hanging out with us next time? These days its either SF , Folsom, Downtown Sac or somewhere else closeby…always looking for great spots.
Conferences are great! Mark was able to go to Mike Colon’s last year and we have been to several others around Ca as well…Gary Fong’s in SF and Scott Robert and Bob Davis in LA. 3 in one year is about all we can do. So this year it will be WPPI and perhaps one more for our kids (employees) to get some workshops under their belts.
TTYL!
Kerri
These classic portraits turned out so nice! luv fran cracking up
Oh those are beautiful family photos!! I was looking at your timer at the top, your daughter’s due date is very close to my daughter in law’s due date, your gonna love being grandparents, I know we do!!!
you’ve only been in business a year hu? AWESOME! that is so cool that you both were able to attend all those workshops, all of those are ones on my “want to learn from” list!
So far I’m not brave enough to venture into wedding photography. I just don’t feel experienced enough at this time, and the pressure of it being such an important day stresses me out
We would totally be interested in joining you guys sometime! Sounds like fun, it’s always so great to spend time with others who share the same passion and don’t think you’re a “weirdo” for taking photos everywhere we go (or using our dates to go downtown to take photos :goodjob:
)
Hope your headache goes away and you feel better soon!
Jen
wow, what a wonderful job! I’m not only going to have to ask you guys to photograph my vacation, but I’m going to have you guys do our family portrait.
Love the pictures! :fun:
Love ya lots—Paula:heartbeat::wave:
Sweet photos! I love your sister’s hair. Does Kelly cut her’s too? I was going to call you tonight but as you can figure I have been busy on the phone too with the recent news. Are you busy the January 13-14th weekend? I have a shoot January 12th but I want to set aside some time to do some fun shooting or talking shop (photos that is). Miss you guys too!
Love,
Robin
i like your photos alot. they always have alot of planning and attention to detail. happy new year!!
awesome!
Fabulous photograhs!!
Hey you!! Finally getting around to seeing eveyrone and catching up. Looks like you been busy! Love the “grayson count down” thing at the top that is too cute. I have been doing well on controling my diabetes this week. That is a good thing. I am still working on the training manual for all the property managers. It is hard to write one of those you know………..trying to put your job into detail. CRAZY! I just do it cause I know it, but writing it down is the hard part. Anywho, I only have one week to complete it. That is why I have not been around. I will update my site as soon as I get a chance. Love to you all……….Kimi
Thanks so much for your encouragement and kind words, I really appreciate it! The more ideas that are being bounced around for OSP west, the more excited I’m getting! I can already tell I’m going to come home with so much information and a better photographer.
So your kids work for your photo business too? That’s so awesome!
Those are great photos! I also love the 2nd one.
:wave:BEAUTIFUL PICTURES! :goodjob:I also loved the ones that you did in the last post, in honor of Nana’s passing. Happy belated birthday to your sis!

hello there!
that camera actually belongs to my photo teacher.
i live in Union City (it’s close to Fremont)
that lens is actually a 300 fixed lens.
Kerri, thank you for your comment. I had forgotten that Mark had cancer and didn’t realize he had seizures. I know how hard they are….I have epilepsy. Mine is well controlled on Dilantin, but I still have a seizure occasionally. Sleep deprivation causes mine. After Elizabeth first had the encephalitis, she had many, many seizures a day. They got less as they found better meds and put in the VNS, but she was never free of them. She certainly is now. :heartbeat:
i just LOVE the 2nd picture!!!
