  • Time….

For a few days now I have been looking at my counter and realizing how quickly time really does go by!!! It makes me kinda mad at myself for sometimes squandering it…..

When I hit 50 I thought this is gonna be a piece of cake…but then it quickly went downhill from there. I ended up with all kinds of pains and what nots…I realize now looking back that I had alot of symptoms relating to being too sedentary but that is the only thing that seemed to help! I then began searching for answers. I ran across a list of symptoms for fibromyalgia from a friend who has it. Then a friend from church came across my path with all these supplements she took for hers and said she was healed. So I bought them and as long as I took them I felt good. Even pretty good. Then I added excersise and realized that once I started working out I really started to feel ALOT better! But wouldnt you know it. Things got hectic and schedules changed and I stopped going to the gym! Can you imagine!? Then the supplements dropped off and I was eating junk again!! So guess what I was feeling OLD again. All the aches and pains were coming back. Then because of vanity I came to another crossroads weight gain!! That did it! I guess I can tolerate being an invalid but overweight and and invlaid NO WAY!!! IT was at this juncture that I heard about Dr. Perricone. I heard a couple of things that made one of those doink! sounds in my head and I decided to try it. I was so excited to hear my son say this morning, Hey Mom youre lookin pretty good! Then later he came up to me and said , so that Dr. Perricone is working for ya, huh? My heart was soaring! What a great way to start the day! So I took my supplements and drank my green tea with a smile on my face…

Today we start back at the gym….so I am feelin pretty good about ’07!

How was your day? I hope you are doing all you can to stay healthy this year. Just look at how fast time flies by! One day you will wish you had taken better care of yourself along the way! Trust me!

    Love ya!

  • Stay healthy Kerri. We all need you.

  • Kerri,

That is very good advice. I myself am only thirty but married to a very active 25 yr old. (I know I’m a lucky man) My wife likes to stay in shape and last weekend we took some time to go play “laser” tag with the kid’s ( not our kids ) I last one round and then started coughing and felt like I was gonna pass out. I suppose 14 yrs of smoking had something to do with it. Praise God I gave that up when I became a christian. Anyway I’m on a rabbit trail. I feel old I’m five foot 8 and 210 pounds and I’m not getting any lighter. My wife has been encouraging me to get exercise and I’m starting to think I need to listen to her

  • Just this morning I found the prayer card my pastor gave me in September, when we prayed that the Lord would free me from sugar…guess what!
I’ve been sugar free since then and have lost 18lbs:love: Isn’t our Father wonderful:spinning:

  • Well, young lady, are you going to tell us who this Dr. Perricone is or do I have to do a search on google???? :)   I need some of that whatever it is!!!!

    love u…..

  • *love* the pics of all your blogs. I am so behind! I smiled seeing the joy on their faces. Beautiful album, beautiful frame, and beautiful family!

I love your “ticker” in the header about Grayson’s arrival. I definitely want to do that when I am pregnant again. Where did you find that?

  • Awww, thanks for the compliment:) You made my day!

*is off to scroll through your archives now…* :)

  • Kerri, who is Dr Perricone and what is this diet?  I started drinking spiced, exotic and green teas (still drinking my coffee though).  I met with some friends from England and they drink tea through out the day instead of snacking.  I said that’s it!  I want to drink teas instead of snacking.  Have you been to the new store Teavia in the Arden Mall?  I fell in love with it!  They have all kinds of loose awesome teas and the neatest tea pots.  Sorry I kind of went off on a tangent and unsure if Dr Perricone’s diet has anything to do with this but I am so into teas right now.  My son Brennan loves drinking tea with me too so that is cool.  So are you around 1/13 and or 1/14?

  • That is all God wants us to do too………….is to take care of ourselves.  He didnt put us here to junk out our bodies!!  Taking care of US means taking care of God!  I have great reason to take care of me, now that I realized that!  Also Flory and I are thinking of adding 1 more to the bunch so need to get a little more healthy before we do that.  Loves and Huggz to ya…………….Kimi

  • Some of you have asked about the ticker above. Mark found it at http://www.flashmysite.com

  • :sunny: Well I for one,  I’m not a excersize person,  I get a workout when Im working and running at a wedding. The other time Im in front of the tube enjoying my See’s candy. Life is short, enjoy yourself. Wait a minute…who am I kidding. I turned 50 this year, my knees hurt, my back hurts, in fact my whole body is sore most of the time! Who knew that shooting weddings all these years would be killing me!  It can’t be the Chocolate..could it???  Nawwww!

I’ve been told for years to watch what I eat….I do. Excersize and drink lots of water…what was that first one? Always did’nt hear that one. And get lots of sleep. Sleep? At 50 I’m scared to close my eyes at night thinking I may not wake up again!!

Kerri’s right about getting to a gym to work out, I just don’t enjoy being around others sweating and in tights, its not my thing, even in High School, I hated gym. So I have a excersize bike that my wife uses, a stepper, my wife uses and arobic cd’s my wife uses. She looks great and has always eaten the right foods, taken her vitamins, hundreds of them! And has never stopped in the 20 years we’ve been married. She is 5 years older than I am and look’s terrific. Me, Im 6′  300lbs and Happy!   Whoosh! I’m all tired from the workout on the computer, I swear my fingers are thinner from all this typing!

  • Randy! I hear ya…but I just don’t want to let it keep me from trying to do the best with what I have left.

  • I’ll take that as a compliment…I checked his site out and he’s got some really awesome photos!   I saw that chapel on my way home one day and luckily had my camera so I decided to pull over and get a few shots. Thanks for the nice comment!

  • Hey Kerri… I’m so glad to hear that you’re on the right track. It’s one thing that I’m very mindful about is what I put into my body and making sure I exercise regularly! YOGA has changed my life and I love it. So much that I became certified to teach. I do it twice a week religiously. It’s the one thing I do for myself no matter what… unless I’m out of town and still I try and find a studio to go to. The benefits are amazing. I have learned how to control my breathing in many situations. I can actually control it when I’m doing cardio too. Your core strength and balance improve, it’s so wonderful… okay I’ll stop now! Anyway, Bob and I both are big green tea drinkers… you can not go wrong with that! I’m just so glad to hear that you’re feeling great. Keep up the good work! ~ Dawn

  • Kerri,

There really isn’t much of a story behind it. He and his wife our friends of ours and he hates getting pictures of himself so I told him he could bring his gun and we kinda just ran with it. I think they offended some people but I loved how they came out. I know I’m kinda towing the line with mixing romance and weapons but I think that it’s romantic.

  • Good luck with your exercise. My experience with it is like yours. I feel much better when I stay active. I feel more balanced. My joints don’t hurt and I seem to have more energy and creativity at the computer. Sometimes I have to make myself do it. I will have to check out Dr. Perricone. I hope you are both feeling good. No more kidney stones! And how exciting about the baby. It’s not long now!
