  • It’s a Dog’s Life!

    Josie

Here is about 3 minutes of “the day in the life of my dog Josie”….! She is happy to be home. I had to take her to the vet the other day and she was so stressed out that she burst a blood vessel in her right eye! Told me to bring her back if it didnt look better the following day. Which I did. My daughter Kelly came with me.Josie used to be her dog. She was coming with me to see Kathy’s new puppies (previous post) and she told me that one time when Josie was a little thing she went to get her vaccinations and they broke off the needle inside her!!! No wonder she was stressed out. But folks when I got there initally to pick her up they told me it would be a few more minutes…as I am heading to the desk I hear a dog scream! It was so weird sounding but it kinda sounded like Josie so  I asked, was that my dog??!!! The receptionist just didnt really answer me and fluffed it off. Didnt think much of it until later when the Dr. suddenly notices her eye as he is giving me the low down on Josie’s visit. Which was just for vaccinations. When I returned the next day to show them the eye was worse the vet got the low down from Kelly on Josie’s broken needle incident and I picked up a prescription for her eye. I don’t feel good about how she really got the broken blood vessel. I think someone knows something that happened to her but isnt saying. Anyway…I guess she will live….! I just hate that she had another bad experience! Oh nd I can’t just take her somewhere else because I signed up for their year long health plan which saved me ALOT of money!!! Gee, now I am just worried how will I ever get her into the groomers!

Anyway! Here is my sweetheart Josie….She likes to hang out under the dining room table when she has a bone so I had to get down to her level to get her 3 minutes of fame…haha

Mom must feel pretty sorry for me! I got a great bone!

    IMG_7654

    IMG_7649

Oh here comes the sun….that can only mean one thing my mom and her camera!!! So I guess I will throw her a bone and pose…

    IMG_7634

Sometimes she likes to experiment with color….is this a good color for me?

    IMG_7630

    IMG_7621

Oh yeah …Posing…I am supposed to be posing! Is this my good side?

I played around with some of these pictures in Picasa to get some different looks.
I used my Canon 5D with no flash in doors with just lamps for lighting. I used my 28mm fixed at 800-1600 ISO.

    Pretty cool!

  • Time….

For a few days now I have been looking at my counter and realizing how quickly time really does go by!!! It makes me kinda mad at myself for sometimes squandering it…..

When I hit 50 I thought this is gonna be a piece of cake…but then it quickly went downhill from there. I ended up with all kinds of pains and what nots…I realize now looking back that I had alot of symptoms relating to being too sedentary but that is the only thing that seemed to help! I then began searching for answers. I ran across a list of symptoms for fibromyalgia from a friend who has it. Then a friend from church came across my path with all these supplements she took for hers and said she was healed. So I bought them and as long as I took them I felt good. Even pretty good. Then I added excersise and realized that once I started working out I really started to feel ALOT better! But wouldnt you know it. Things got hectic and schedules changed and I stopped going to the gym! Can you imagine!? Then the supplements dropped off and I was eating junk again!! So guess what I was feeling OLD again. All the aches and pains were coming back. Then because of vanity I came to another crossroads weight gain!! That did it! I guess I can tolerate being an invalid but overweight and and invlaid NO WAY!!! IT was at this juncture that I heard about Dr. Perricone. I heard a couple of things that made one of those doink! sounds in my head and I decided to try it. I was so excited to hear my son say this morning, Hey Mom youre lookin pretty good! Then later he came up to me and said , so that Dr. Perricone is working for ya, huh? My heart was soaring! What a great way to start the day! So I took my supplements and drank my green tea with a smile on my face…

Today we start back at the gym….so I am feelin pretty good about ’07!

How was your day? I hope you are doing all you can to stay healthy this year. Just look at how fast time flies by! One day you will wish you had taken better care of yourself along the way! Trust me!

    Love ya!

  •

Shhh….these are a surprise for my sister’s birthday which was Jan. 2nd. So Lorri if you see this do NOT scroll down! You have to wait until Saturday!

In my last post on Nana’s passing I wanted to share who Nana was related to. My sister’s husband Mike is Nana’s grandson and the lady in the front is Fran who is Nana’s daughter. We took pictures at Kelly’s at Christmas and this was so hilarious we had to make a storyboard! Do you remember my post where I was an elf? Well they all watched it about 10 times at Christmas so when it came time to make some of these guys smile, I lifted my leg in the position I had it in the elf link and these are what we got…I think that tickled Fran’s funny bone…lol!!!

This one just makes me smile and sigh…I just love it…

We put a little border around it so it can be framed without cutting much more of Mike from the photograph.

  • Nana’s Homegoing….

Just got back from Nana’s Memorial. It was a beautiful mass. Held in the Catholic Church that family attends. After the service they had a full breakfast prepared in another building We ate then drove to Fran’s house to visit with family. My sister is married to Mike and Nana is Mike’s maternal grandmother. You will recall I posted Nana’s passing in mid December at the age of 102.

While I was at Fran’s (Mike’s mother) Nana’s daughter I learned alot about the family especially Nana. She was a very sweet person and never learned to drive. She walked everywhere and ate very healthy most of her life. Until she got to be in her 80′s when she learned she loved Hotdogs! haha…She helped nurse her mother to health when she was sick and became a nurse as a result. She was a very happy person and did for others as her mother did. Her mother did things other people found too difficult to do. She bathed and dressed little babies and children that died to prepare them for their burials. The generation before us did waht they had to do but Nana did it with a smile and song in her heart…

    God Speed Nana!

together with all the old photos and momentos.

    IMG_7285

David’s wife Linda is the family historian/geneologist.
She began this beautiful book when she was young.
She was always the one who asked the elders to tell her
names and dates and stories as she heard them.

    IMG_7287

She would then add them to her book…
    with pictures and notations…

    IMG_7288

I thought I would end on the beautiful page…

Nana loved God so I have no doubt that her life has gone on…in Heaven…
