Chicken Pox and veternarian visits…
Have any of you had or know anyone who has caught the chicken pox as an adult? Poor Lindsay is down with it and it has been downright awful and painful! For some reason the ones on the bone directly behind her ears have been the worst and because of that she hasnt been able to sleep for 2 days. Around 5 pm last night she asked us to pray for her and within a short time she fell asleep. Wthin 2 hours the fever broke and she woke up hungry. Always a good sign! What a relief to see her up and eating and talking again.
Here is the sad part. She has one class left before the end of her 4 year college career. That is this morning. We are waiting to hear back from her professor on how that is going to affect her grade. It was one of those classes that was only 3 credits but it might keep her from graduating. Who knows if she will get an incomplete or a lower grade. :ast week she completed her presentation and turned it in early, thank God. Who knew she would be in this situation! Regardless, graduation is in a few days and because she is still in the contagious stage she will be unable to ”walk” to get her diploma. She will have to wait until next May. Its so sad because Limdsay has worked so hard these last 4 years and I know she is disappointed.
So now we are all watching Jayden as to whether or not he will come down with this since we babysat him twice last week. We all handled him, and yes Lindsay, too. No one knew. ,Last call from Kelly was that he had a slight temp. Oh no! He is only a little over 10 weeks old.
As this is going on my sweet Josie girl has been ill, too. She has been lethargic and sick at both ends and wouldnt eat or drink. I took her to the vet yesterday and they sent us home with some pills I got one in her right away and then one right before bed. She wouldnt eat her dinner and stayed hidden in the closet. Around 4 am she woke me up whining at the bedroom door. She needed to potty. But instead of going back to the closet she seemed abit energetic so I gave her some lowfat cottage cheese and she ate that down in seconds. I only gave her a few spoonfuls so she wouldnt get sick again and she is sitting with me on the couch as I write this.
I am so grateful that things are turning around today…thanking God for his blessings of health. It is a scary place to be when you dont have it.
We have a cool job today….but cant share it yet. More later!
Hope all is well with you and your families!!!

((KERRI)), YES… AS AN ADULT, IT’S CALLED SHINGLES, IS HORRIBLY PAINFUL FROM WHAT I’VE SEEN AND HEARD. USUALLY, CHILDREN WHO DIDN’T GET CHICKENPOX AS A CHILD OR ONLY A FEW VESSICLES, LIKE MY SON, END UP LATER HAVING IT IN THEIR ADULT LIFE, OFTEN MANY TIMES. MICHELE (ANGLZQQOVERME) JUST GOT OVER A CASE OF SHINGLES, IN FACT. SHE SAID IT WAS HORRIBLY PAINFUL. ADULTS USUALLY ALWAYS GET IT ON THEIR BACKS, OUCH! IT’S RECURRENT FROM WHAT I UNDERSTAND WHEN YOU GET IT AS AN ADULT.
SO SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT LINDSAY AND JOSIE! PRAYING FOR HEALING FOR BOTH!
LOVE, CHERYL
I’ll be praying for Lindsay, if it is shingles, yes it’s awful. Will pray for the professor to be merciful too. Love, Gerrie
Oh I hope Lindsay, Jayden, and Josie will all be alright very very soon! Sigh…..
:sleepy: And I thought you guys just hung out and sipped Starbucks all day long and nothing exciting ever happens at your house….NOT!
If I were Lindsay I would Benadril myself silly and walk the walk and get that diploma no matter what. After the way she worked so hard for 4 years…nothing could hold me back from getting my diploma. Go on Lindsay, give it your best, we’re still praying for you!!!
Randy & Family
Glad she is better. I hope all goes well for her with her grades. I can understand the frustration.
Will pray for that baby to stay healthy.
Glad the dog is doing so much better, too.
It doesn’t look like I’ll be going up to see my uncle. He is off the feeding tube because he kept taking it out. I did get to see him last year when he got worse. My husband and I and my mom and aunt went to see him and we prayed over him. The day after we prayed over him, he had improved some. He wasn’t eatin when we first saw him and hadn’t eaten in weeks, but after we prayed, he ate again.
My mom and grandma are trying to fly out there to see him this week. They live in AZ. So I hope that works out for them.
it’s so hard when the whole family is sick. they’re so blessed to have you guys help out. our entire family was sick last month and it was so brutal trying to take care of the kids when you’re sick. wow, i’ll be praying for your family’s health and lindsay’s graduation. chicken pox are no fun. hopefully, all will work out soon. it always does!!!
Congrats Lindsay on completing your education! I am so sorry to hear you have the chicken pox no fun as a kid, really scary as an adult! Best wishes, good luck with the wedding season!
Aww… Hope Lindsay will be feeling alright ASAP! The same goes for your little “guy” and Josie. I also have a dog, her name is Angel. I understand how you are feeling because Angel have had some of her health problems also. Put all your worries into God’s hands and let Him do the work. I’ll say a prayer for all of you
oh no Lindsay…………I am so sorry to hear about you being so miserable. Praying for your quick recovery. Also praying that jayden slides by without getting them. My kids all had them, except Alyson. Riley had a double breakout. So he was sick for about a month. It was horrible. never seen anything like it. Praying for all to be well. Loves and huggz to you all…….Kimi
They say chicken pox is hard on adults and get realy sick with them.
Desi had the chicken pox she was covered frm head to toe.
Missy had them too But Liz never got them and I always had her around kids
so she could get them but she never did.
I hope she never get it now cause it will be realy worse on top of everything else that she has wrong with her.
Jayden if he get s the chicken pox he’ll hav’t to stay in a dark room away frm the lights. that goes with anyone that has it. that s what i always herd.
my sister had the chicken pox and mumps at the same time at the age 13.
she throwed up bloody nose she was deathly sick.
I had chicken pox when I was a baby mom said I was abougt 7 months old.
Hope Lindsay gets to feeling better soon.
oh by the way I was’nt to happy abought them getting Cody a BB gun.
when he get s around his cousin’s and the kids up the road frm him I know that they will tell Cody to shot at this and that.
If I catch Cody shooting hos BB gun at the new dog I will tan his little hide and then take the BB gun and wrap it around the tree.
Mickie
Oh no! Sorry to hear about Lindsay.. hope she recovers soon! It must be a huge disappointment to not be able to walk in her graduation and wait a whole year to do so!! I hope she gets well soon, and that Jayden doesn’t come down with anything also.

So sorry about the sickies around there. No fun!
I’ve a small q… where did you get that bride photo? I recognize the people in it, so was wondering
YES!!! ME!!! I had them when I was 18 years old. I didn’t know what was wrong with me and I went to the emergency room and they told me I had chicken pox. I was soooooo sick!!! I didn’t have a lot of blisters but I had a raging fever and was just sick and it was very painful!!! I don’t think I’ve ever been that sick. It was horrible. All you can do it treat the fever, calamine the blisters and stay hydrated.:( I hope she feels better soon.
SOOO sorry to hear about the chicken pox and the timing of it all. I hope the professor is understanding and Lindsey gets well very soon. Bless you all. Oh and hope sweet Josie is doing well… and Jayden. I love the tatoo photo.
Poor Lindsey!
Yes, I caught the chicken pox from my younger siblings over one of my school breaks from college when I was 18, I believe. I got it lots worse than they did as I recall. It’s better to get it over with as a younger kid. They have vaccinations for that now, don’t they? Congratulations on Lindsey’s graduation!! :goodjob:
