We had an engagement shoot this last week with Jenae & Paco who are getting married in September at beautiful Winchester country Club in Auburn. The wedding site will be simply amazing and we can’t wait to shoot their wedding.
We met them at Depoe Bay Coffee in Auburn – a very cool place if you are ever in the area. We then stopped by a pond on the way to the country club and then at her parents house which is right around the corner from the club. The shots in front of the rock waterfall are in her back yard as are the ones on the little bridge and the ones in front of a window with this awesome diffused light coming through.
Then we headed off to the club to finish off the day.
Congratulations to Jenae & Paco – you guys rock!!

can’t wait to see the slide show..I’m getting my new computer tomorrow and will down load the stuff I need to watch it:coolman:
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That was awesome! You got wonderful shots and they are going to LOVE them. I love the lighting and poses. The last shot makes a perfect advertisement shot and is absolutely gorgeous!
you knocked this one out of the ballpark with the posing and lighting. your shots here looked only slightly processed, giving way to a real feel. i love these shots!
simply wonderful! :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: im with robin…wow! great photos! =)
imho…this is your best work yet!!! the lighting is just simply wonderful. and you captured so many great expressions. i loved all the different settings. and i like your processing work on this series. there’s a very natural feeling to these images with lots of depth. btw, regarding my preschool shoot, praise God that He gives us the opportunity to improve this craft with each new shoot. believe me, from year one to year two to this year, i’ve learned a lot!
Wow, I am with Tim, these are the best we have seen yet! Great details, post processing, angles, location…absolutely wonderful!!
Wow, so many good photos I don’t know where to begin!
Photos that MUST go at the top of your portfolio: $8, 9, 47, (AWESOME!) 59, 65, 88, (nice blend!) and last but NOT least, # 98 which I love… All the photos are great and professional, but all those ones are world-class, and you should be so proud to have gotten THAT many in just one shoot!

Hey Mark & Kerri, actually the blend was fantastic and pretty perfectly done, I just knew that an in-focus face then a blurred bear carving and then another in-focus face had to be a combo. Works great though, and quick shooting to get both shots! Must have had to change focus points pretty quickly…
I don’t think I’d really enjoy being a press photographer, (the guys behind Orlando) because I’d be locked in one place and I’d have to take a bunch of the same exact shot of everyone. To be a true PJ though and just free-roam the entire area though, well that’s basically what I already do! To get paid to do what I already do, instead of meeting someone else’s demands, would of course be anyone’s dream job.
I’ve thought of hiring onto the Disneyland staff as a walk-around photographer, doing their guest portrait program when I’m on the clock but doing stock photography when I’m off-duty. The cool thing is, Disneyland is “open” 24-7 to employees, the park basically never sleeps because each night is spent getting ready for the next day. I figure I could get some incredibly sweet sunset / night / sunrise photos if I haunt the place regularly!
Buuut, I don’t think that would pay the bills, and I don’t think they’d let me take weekends off to do weddings lol, cause weekends are when they need like 10x more employees lol…
Anyway, take care!

Matthew: I KNEW IT WAS THE BEAR that gave it away….I tried hard but he was out of focus in both pics so there wasnt much I could do. I didnt think anyone would notice, but you have a keen eye! I did have to switch pretty fast as they were only there for the two shots and I didnt know until I got home if I got both ends.
Thank you again for your kind words and encouragement – we love taking photographs, and it really makes our day when other people who dont even know our clients enjoy the show. Gotta give lots of props to our daughter who was with us also – three cameras, so this couple really felt like papparazzi! A lot of these shots were hers as well – it was a pretty even spread between the three of us. it’s always fun to come home after a shoot – we all want to know what everyone else got!
Beautiful shots! I love the soft lighting. You guys do such great work.
These are WONDERFUL! And how fun that you all can do it together!! It is going to be so much following your work during your busy wedding season this year!! Good luck with everything. Hope everyone is feeling better. (And my condolences on the loss of your uncle – even though we know they are FINE its hard to see them go)
i love these pics. great slide show! :heartbeat:
simply amazing. What a great job you both did for the finished product. As mentioned by many people before…the lighting is great and I like the variety of backgrounds.
Jenae & Paco are so blessed to have you document this great moment in their life. Absolutely terrific!!! Love the song choices too. There are so many positives – the vintage, grainy images are awesome. The sense of motion in the photos – in particular the transition as they are hugging – WOW! That wry smile Jenae has toward the end of the show – you really brought out their personality in these photos. And with their names on her sandal – really cool! Congratulations on a job really well done. – David
thanks so much. That is a place called the Range in Johnson city, TN. The little girl’s name is Kadence. I thought that me putting my name would confuse people I have to fix that…. oh well. Yeah i know exactly what you mean about having a mixture of different views! its just so fun! I love photography!!

You’re too kind, thx! :]
simply awesome! i think what i liked in this series is how you just captured the couple in their natural expressions…the key is to find a balance between their natural pose and a photog-pose for the shot, i think you have found it. your lighting and post processing is wonderful as well! i like all the different styles! oh yea…and while watching, there’d be certain photos that literally placed a smile onto my face =) thank you[.]
:sunny:
Of course I’m still here. I just don’t spend as much time on xanga anymore. Life is good. Just going to school to be an RN and doing lots of cool things in my church. We are about to start having church services in Spanish and I’m going to be the praise leader! I’m pretty excited about that. Well, I hope the business is doing good. Oh yeah, my sister is graduating from flight attendant school today, (Southwest Airlines.) Pretty cool huh?
God bless

Aye, I’m back, not as much as I would like, but I am none the same… I’m happy for them, but it makes me feel old
