  • Out from behind the desk….

So I had extreme “not taking pictures”cabin fever today. We went to a seminar this week by Ed Pierce. One of the speakers, Parker Pfister, really inspired me – he got out on a regular basis just to shoot for himself and keep his creativity going.

I headed out the door late tonight to walk through downtown Roseville. I left a little later than I wanted to and the sun was going down. But downtown Roseville is pretty at night.  I didn’t take a whole lot of pics, and here are some of them:

  • :heartbeat:  Love those photos!!!!!!!  ~Carolyn

  • You should do this more often!  The first five caught my eye, especially.

  • WOW, OH WOW!! Love these..  Roseville never looked so romantic before. #6 really caught my eye…LOL.

  • Ditto mommyfish’s comment — Roseville hadn’t really developed into a city when I lived in Sacramento (early 80′s).  These are really lovely!  Is 2252 borrowed from the train museum?

  • very very cool! yea, Parker is totally right, and I think when I watched that, that that (wow, that was three “that”s in a row) I realized why I don’t get tired of shooting and still love my hobby till this day, it’s cuz I take shots of everything, and it’s always changing. When I just did weddings, it got a little “old”…but still enjoyable, just didn’t feel the same =P Great shots btw, love the PW one…not sure y…

  • I really love Ed Pierce! He’s really an amazing man. And Parker is such a great photographer! I bet this was an incredible seminar!!!! All the images are great but I really loved #2 and 4. Have a great weekend!!!!! :heartbeat: :heartbeat: :heartbeat: ~ Dawn

  • :coolman:Awsome images here in Roseville. Every once in a while I need to push myself out the door and rememeber what it was like to just go out and shoot for fun. It seems like such a labor all the time. It used to be so much more, now its a job just to pick up a camera these days.

I have to re-capture that feeling from 35 years ago when I would just go out and look for something to shoot, from a man hole in the street to a sunset. I guess its like getting oil for the rust of these old bones, so to say.  Thanks for the word-up!

  • Love the colors on these photos..they take my breath away…but ok..have to be honest..want more JAYDEN photos!!!  LOL….  Love Ya, Charlotte

  • I have to admit that the 4th is my favorite!!  The last is wonderful as well.  It is so relaxing to be able to go out and just shoot with no real purpose in mind.

  • Very nice! A little free expression to cleanse the system, huh. I saw the Ed Pierce seminar here in Tampa. Parker’s segment was good, I agree. I really enjoyed his idea of a body of work that just sort of happens and may go on for years. It inspired me to shoot more. Now if I could just shoot more from the heart and not from the head. Give us more like this. God Bless. -Jeff

  • Those are great! I need to find time to go out and take pics too before wedding season starts.
Taking pictures in front of moving trains is not healthy….LOL

  • I love that first one! :goodjob:
