Dave’s Birthday!
Today we celebrated our son-in-law Dave’s birthday!
What a fun day – EXCEPT FOR THE FACT THAT IT WAS TOO STINKIN HOT!
When we first got into the car the thermometer read 115 degrees!! Then it “cooled” down while we drove.
Dave and Kelly invited some of their friends over for the day also – one of them had a little son around the same age as Jayden – Cyrus. what a cutie!!
Jayden hasn’t had any other little kids over at his house so it was a new experience for him of having someone else playing with his toys! All of us have our first encounters with “sharing” and wondering how we feel about it…
And what’s a birthday party without some cake! The cake on the right is a special Vegan cake that Lindsay made to help celebrate our Anniversary – it was delicious!!
And Dave got his cake with special sprinkles he LOVES….
We gave Dave a birthday present he and his family could use in their back yard on those hot days when they need some shade:
Then we drove home and were rewarded with a special sight along the way:

such cute pictures of a very special day. whew! looking at that themometer in your car made me remember those sweltering summers in Folsom. i sware, as much as i miss california i can honestly say i do not miss the summers! LOL it would get so unbearable and i remember our a/c could never cool off below 80 degrees on those hot days (and our house was brand new so you’d think the a/c could do better than that). i used to get the kids, pile them in my car and head to san fran to fisherman’s wharf to cool off for the day. hahahaha! :lol:

stinking hot in Laguna too, 105 with humidity. Makes it hard to get ready for our opening at the art show on Tuesday…
so it’s nice to be taking a break with the fan blowing on my back, a nice cold drink and these cute pictures of the little boys

First of all, congrats on your 28th anniversary. George and I will celebrate 25 years this coming Saturday..we’re shooting a wedding that day.

I love sprinkles on cake. But tomorrow I’m treating Charlotte to coconut cake from Barbara’s bakery…hehe.
@heyheypaula - Oh thank you Paula!! We have had a hard time being able to celebrate every birthday this year. We always seem to have a wedidng booked on them because so many of our birthdays fall on wedding dates! lol
@Bakedgood75 - I loved watching Jayden interact with Cyrus. I think sharing will come when he has more time to get used to the idea…
@broncomom - Really you guys had it that hot too?? Wow! A fan and a cool drink sounds soo good right now! Just got back from our wedding tonight.Thank God it has cooled off!

@mommyfish - Thank you!!! And the same to you!!! No we didnt but they did up in the Grass Valley area. One of our past brides was a bridesmaid at todays wedding and she lives there and she was telling me that. Oh enjoy that Coconut cake! One of my favorites!!!
