  • Finally! Jayden’s Day Out!

    Jayden's Day Out WEB!!.jpg

Jayden’s day out at the plaza!!

In locating a frozen yogurt shop the other evening we ended up at a local mall that just opened  called The Fountains. We were so entertained while we were there. Fountains that sprayed a mist that changed colors and then every 30 min or so the danced to the music that they played. There was also a place where water shot up out of the ground so that the kids could run through them and cool off on hot days. How cool is that! Tucked away in a corner is this really fun play area too that Jayden loved! Next time you are in Roseville stop by and enjoy!

I am sure we will see more of this place in the future!

Heather and Ryan were married last month at the always beautiful David Girard Vineyards – what a beautiful day it was!

We first met Heather and Ryan last year when they met with us about their wedding. When we talked about their engagment session we asked them what they enjoyed doing together they said, “FISHING!” So fishing it was! We went to two different lakes and walked around one of them and got some fun shots. Their fun fishing e-session is on the side bar under Heather and Ryan  if you would like to watch it. They were such a fun couple and up for anything…which we love!

We couldn’t wait to do their wedding! So, without further ado here it is!

We wish you a long healthy happy blessed life together you two!!!

  • working on albums…

I love this part of our business. While the guys are editing all the gazillion images we take away from our weddings I love when the lists of favorites come in so I can start designing the albums. While the guys get to make the images all dreamy and lovely…  I love putting them into a lovely book that the bride and groom and their families will be able to enjoy for years and years.  I think about when they sit down together to look at their day over and over. I think about the future generations that might be looking through the book and seeing how their parents looked when they got married and how romantic or funny they were. I love making sure that they see all the things that they missed in the blur of the day…the details of their flowers, their jewlery, their hair,..the veil. Putting them in places that made them choose their venue or romantic spots nearby…I love big happy laughter and moments between parents and their grown up kids…I love the little ones as they grow up so fast….I love a grooms face when he sees his bride coming down the aisle or the romantic moments between them during a reveal. I love the tears in the father and mothers eyes during their dance. I love the tender looks between the bride and groom during the first dance. It’s all so beautiful. A wedding tells me alot about the bride and how she designs her wedding…I try to take that in when I am designing the album…it’s important to me that it be not only documentary but artistic as well. Every woman wants to remember her day as romantically as she can…

So yes, I love this part of what I do. I have an album that is about ready to present to the bride for approval. When that happens it gets sent to Italy to our album company where they make the most beautiful albums. We find it hard to go with anyone else when we have this level of beauty show up 6 weeks later…then we get to call the Bride and Groom to let them know their album has arrived! We never get tired of watching them see and feel the album for the first time…Yes, it is glorious!

    Look for the album soon….

  • So nice to get out and do something fun!

With having to be trapped inside for so long with all the smoke and heat these last few weeks we got such cabin fever! We decided to take today off. Because we work out of our house it is hard to seperate work from home life. There are times Mark and Brian work both Sat. and Sunday and are editing late into the night and barely taking breaks. So today we took a family day. After church we came home and watched a movie then decided to go bowling ( which I havent done in probably 20 years! Naturally I broke 3 nails!!Other than that, I had the best game first game! Then Brian had the best 2nd game and Mark beat us on the 3rd game. Our friend Philip was having an off night I think. Lindsay just watched and took pictures…

then we decided we were all hungry so we went to Buca Di Beppo’s. Its a family style Italian Restaurant. It was sooo good! I love the smell of Italian food! I love how it tastes but I doubt that it is going to be a good thing when I go weigh in tomorrow! Yikes!

Monday morning we hit the ground running to get the next slideshow up and I will be starting our first album of the wedding season very soon….! Exciting!

So what do you like to do to get out and have fun doing??

  • Looks like we’re catching a break!

So the temps this week have just been horrible, and the air quality the same. Here are a couple pics I took yesterday when we looked outside and saw what the sun looked like. The visibility was down in some areas to less than 1/4 of a mile. Today we woke up to clearer skies and a nice breeze! Although it still was warm today they are saying that we may be out of the 100+ weather for the near future. (It’s Sacramento folks, so I’m sure we’ll get those days again before the summer is over…)

  • Triple Whammy in Northern Ca.

My oh my it is so bad here folks! We have triple digits here. This was taken on my deck late this afternoon (note it is in the shade!)

    Smoke in Roseville 003

With a thick layer of forest fire smoke laying heavy on the heat as well as the Ozone readings being what they are, we are miserable, We are in the VERY UNHEALTHY levels especially for the little ones, the elderly, theose suffering from respitory diseases and all the poor outdoor animals and people who have to work outside!! We dont see much changing in the coming days with so many fires still burning. We had a bad spot before the 4th but the wind came up and blew it all away and gave us 80 degree temps for the 4th what a glorious day. But then came the new fires and now its worse than ever.

Here are some pics of what it looks like around here….these are not our shots, but they say it all.gap_070308_1141

Pray we get a good wind blow through here soon!!! I have cabin fever!

  • I love it when the delivery truck delivers a pkg from Italy!

Today was exciting as the Fed Ex truck brought us a package from Italy. That always means a wedding album has arrived! Kyle and Kristy Mowry’s album is now sitting on our dining room table and it is beautiful! I love seeing how all the images come together for the final wedding story.

Here are a couple of shots I took. Once they pick up their album I always wish I had taken pictures of it. We did order an extra parent album size in the silk which we hadnt ever tried before. We were discouraged by a photographer to not use them because they can get stained. We wanted to see one and feel it and so we ordered one. It is beautiful!!!  I love the big one we ordered for the couple but I really like this one, too! Its hard to tell the difference in these photos but the one sitting in the briefcase is a shiny cover and the smaller other one is a silk material cover.

If you want to see the whole album scroll back up to Albums under Kyle and Kristy.

  • What 4th of July weekend!

We had a great weekend for the 4th – After finishing up the slideshow for Michelle & Erik we took off a couple days for a well-needed rest. Nothing but sleeping in, laying around, eating and relaxing! Our friends Ned & Donna with their son Phillip were over for the weekend.

Kerri worked like crazy this last week to get our deck ready not only for this weekend but for us to relax during our break in the wedding season:

Mark & Ned started the afternoon out on the grill getting the grub ready for eating!

We started the afternoon by feasting ourselves on Ned’s WONDERFUL ribs and Mark’s delicious salmon.

Later on we settled in for
the fireworks that take place right around the corner from our house.
Kerri and Donna stayed at home and she got some great shots from the
    front yard:

    Ned, Lindsay,
Brian, Phillip and I ventured over into the crowds to find a spot to
enjoy the show and snap some shots. Here is a mixtures of shots Lindsay
    and I grabbed:

    Michelle & Erik

What a joy to shoot this couple and their family and friends! Its always so fun to be able to finish a slideshow and watch the whole day unfold again. This was an overnight job for us and what fun it was to show up at the hotel and find a huge basket of goodies there with 3 stealth delivery girls! The mom, the sister and the bride herself were leaving just as we arrived. It was my first time getting to meet them so I didnt even know who they were when we walked up. Right away I knew this would be wonderful family, hence a wonderful experience and wedding! And it was!

    Happy 4th of July …enjoy!

Erik and Michelle have a blessed , long, happy, and healthy marriage!
