  • What we did for Mark’s 50th Birthday

I am so behind in my blogging! Lots of work is chuning away here but it takes free time to post the work up so it comes in spurts, I know! I wanted to put up a few personal posts to just keep you lovely friends up on whats happening with us…I have 2 more personal ones coming but here is the first of 3. We do have a life…lol…I think!

Recently I took Mark to The Ironstone Winery Ampitheatre in the Gold Country for his birthday. I bought tickets and gave them to him on his birthday which was back in May but the concert wasnt until the othe weekend. It was just the two of us and we so enjoyed just relaxing and not thinking about the business just a pit stop in the busy season to say Hello to each other! lol

Anyway we saw The Steve Miller Band and Joe Cocker. It was awesome! We really enjoyed Joe Cocker. Steve did alot of new stuff and it kind of dragged the momentum of his set. HE really should of started with one of his major hits. But I can imagine artists get tired of being known for their old stuff but hey there were alot of us boomers there who wanted to reminisce! Anyway it was fun. I am posting some of the shots of the first day. And No we didnt break the rules and sneak a camera in so no shots of the bands, sorry. : (

Here is one of our breakfast companions. He came out when I threw him a blueberry. He was totally into it1! Better be it was organic so it was good for him and better for him than some of the junk he probably gets from the balconies of previous visitors. So cute!! You cant believe how many were there it was quite funny to watch them all running here and there looking for the blueberries and the toasted oats I was sharing with them…

  • Haha I was listening to Steve Miller the other day!

  • I’m not sure which is cuter…Mark or the squirrel. But I must say there’s quite a resemblence between the first and third pictures. LOL

Glad you had a great time at the concert.

  • cute pics… won’t show these cute lil guys to my son and DIL though.. these little boogers can wreak havoc in an orchard of almonds… oh my…. won’t tell ya what takes place in an orchard near here!    LOL

Steve Miller eh??  my Mark has the boxed set!  Steve Miller fan.. LOL  now Joe Cocker OTOH… um… EWWWWWWWY!!  :p

  • Happy BD Old Timer! Welcome to the club.

    the other Old timer:cry:

  • I love Joe Cocker..he has always been a favorite!  Happy Birthday Mark!!!!!:sunny:

  • @mommyfish -

    I’m probably a little nuttier…

  • @lydellphoto - so many things I could say here but I wont…. wouldnt it be funny if it was the squirrel who had the camera taking a picture of us eating our breakfast on the deck….

@portiajules - He was actually better than Steve Miller in our opinion based on the songs chosen. By the time he got to the good stuff lots of people were leaving or had already left to beat the parking lot rush…lol that’s us old folks dont want to waste a minute. When we were younger the last thing we thought about was the parking lot!!

@Borelfoto - He been an old timer for 3 months now.

@Shutterbugd - Joe was actually better than Steve that night. Just based on the choices they made on song placement. Both were awesome!!! ASo many memories to help make it an even more interactive evening…

@mommyfish - Yeah and Mark needs to share his angle of those cute guys from where he was. It took me a while to figure out that he was even down there and that his presence was keeping them away. It took quite a bit of coaxing to get them to come out when he was down there. hence the blueberries the expensive organic blueberries I might add!

  • Interesting that squirrels would eat blueberries!  I love the shot of all of them going after the goddies!

  • Happy birthday to Mark! :goodjob:

  • Hi Kerri,

Those squirrels are so cute!  We don’t have squirrels here in Australia.  Hope it cools down for you soon, it’s 10 degrees celsius here in Toowoomba today and just beautiful, with a fresh, bracing westerly wind blowing, I should send you over some of our weather.   Happy Birthday Mark.  Looks like you two had a great time celebrating.

    Christine
