  • Lydell Photography made the top 5 Photographers on KCRA’s ’09 Contest for Best Photographer in the S

Last month we told everyone about the contest in Sacramento for best local photographer.

There are a ton of photographers in this area, and we would have been thrilled to place in the top 10.

The results were announced this morning, and we ended up in fifth place! WooHoo!

Thank you to everyone who took the time to cast a vote and leave us a comment!

  • Seattle

This is the view of downtown Seattle, Washington taken from Kerry Park.

And this is the same view, but I cropped it in closer to see more of the downtown area. Which one do you like better?

  • Seattle Shoot

  • Engagement Session in Auburn, California!

In a few months Emily & Matt will be married at Empire Mine State Park – If you’ve never been there you absolutely need to take the time to drive there and explore – it’s incredibly beautiful, and an amazing backdrop for a wedding!

We started the day out in downtown Auburn., and because Emily & Matt met at Placer High School in Auburn, we ended the day up at the school.

Matt and Emily traveled to Las Vegas last November and took one of those helicopter rides to the canyon. Matt proposed to Emily at the bottom of the canyon. Wish we’d known them then – that would have been a GREAT shot!!

They are such an easy going couple – they laughed easily and were so relaxed the entire time, it was like being out with old friends. We’re looking forward to their wedding!

  • We took Lianne & Alex out last week for their engagement pictures.

After meeting up for coffee and playing on the train tracks we went to Griffith Quarry Park in Penryn which is absolutely gorgeous this time of the year, and the weather was perfect! As you can probably tell from the images, they needed very little coaching – they are so much in love it was very easy to capture those moments!

Alex was a crack-up, and Lianne is so sweet – we can’t wait for their wedding this June at the amazing Newcastle Wedding Gardens.

Also – See if you can guess what Lianne’s favorite movie is – we tried to incorporate it into one of their shots.
