We spent a fun Saturday teaching a class on photography at David Girard Vineyards…
We had such a fun afternoon with some great people on Saturday.
We not only had a beautiful day, but a gorgeous venue to shoot at! Once we spent some time talking about Composition and Lighting and techniques and showed some examples from our own work he have done, everyone spread out and spent an hour taking photos and having lunch. We have to say Judy at David Girard made sure we had a very nice boxed lunch which was more gourmet than a box lunch you typically think of. It was prepared by Dedrick’s Deli. We look forward to checking them out sometime again! Here is Mark in action, and those who attended the class. What a great bunch of people! We look forward to the next class. It looks like we will be doing 3 more to round out the seasons at DGV.
Spring promises to be beautiful! But for this class we captured “winter at the vineyard”…
Looking forward to our next class!!

Brian Lydell
A post about Brian our son who turns 21 in a couple of months. We are are extremely proud of him. Like most kids he has had his challenges with being shy. Something he has really worked through this past year 2008-09. even though that has been a challenge for him he continued to make excellent grades in school and has an amazing mind for language and writing. He loves to cook and has started his own sideline of photography from weddings to seniors and fashion/funky. He has a very creative side which we have begun to really see come forth.. He has been learning more of the business end of things to round out his own business. His passion for photography has grown the last 3 years to a place where if he wanted to make photography his profession he certainly has the foundation, passion, skill and drive for it.
These are older pictures of him taken almost 3 years ago.He will hate that I posted them but I love them. It captures his sweetness and as his mother this is how I see him. I’ll post some more recent ones of him later…these were taken with an old rebel camera SOOC (straight out of the camera) without any processing…so they arent up to our normal standards for a job. Just a day out with our old cameras and just having fun…I ran across them tonight and decided to share them and get a little personal with our blog this week.
If you are local and want a senior session or just a photosession done give him a shout…he’d love to hear from you. brian@lydellphoto.com

My o my…facebook has become the place to be!
I am finding that many of our friends have gone over to Facebook and Twitter. I finally checked it out and wow it is a quick and easy way to communicate. I love the spontaneity, the pace, and the quirky fun to just throw stuff out there when you only have 5 minutes. It sure works when you are busy…lol I also like how it grabs my Xanga posts and posts them on there too! That is really cool because it does it automatically. Another timesaver! In this day and age anything that is a timesaver is a thing to treasure! I’ve been checking both of them out for the last couple of months and I have to say I am hooked. I still love and will continue to nurture our Xanga because it is a place to really come and kick the tires while looking for a photographer that fits your style or just come and say Hi and make a friend.
So onto some news…
.

Still working on our genealogy and waiting to hear if Mark and his brother are Melis or Lydells. A DNA test will tell us in about a week. We are on pins and needles here. Once we know then we can spend more time on Marks side of the family. We’ve already uncovered a ton of stuff on my side and on my oldest daughter’s biological dad’s side. Its just soooo fascinating!
