  • Through their Eyes- Africa -24 Hour Blogathon

The last two days have been very introspective days for me. A dear dear Xanga friend HeyHeyPaula lost her husband on Sunday…and news of Joe Buissink ( world remowned wedding photographer that we love) having his 3rd heart attack really has made things a bit sobering. He is okay thanks to his knowledge of what to do when the symptoms appear….so when I was reading about this today I realized that God was speaking to me about lots of things having to do with the fact that tomorrow is not promised to any of us so what are we going to do with those days we do have which is today! Now that he had my attention would I help with a special project…

    Please go visit!

This is a very cool idea!!!

    Blogathon

    July 9th & 10th

    Blogathon

Go to the through their eyes africa blog at:
    www.throughtheireyesafrica.typepad.com

Be a part of history!  Today I am participating in the first ever “blogathon” to raise funds for the through their eyes  africa  project.  Please go to their blog and give generously today.  You can make a difference to some of the neediest people on earth in a very unique way, and we need your help.

This project will be sending a group of well known photographers into a remote part of Africa that has not received any help yet.  The photographers will be mentoring young adults on how to take pictures so that we can get a look at their society “through their eyes”.  The funds raised from this project will go right back to the needs of these people. So, please go now and give at www.throughtheireyesafrica.typepad.com  . They need your donations to make this happen.  Remember, what you give will make a difference in the lives of some of the neediest people on earth.

Be a part of history.  Be part of the solution.

     Thank you for your generosity.

  • “Through their eyes”…Wow… that is a cool idea!

I know when I read about Paula’s husband it just hit me in the pit of the stomach… I am praying for her.
I also found out a friend had cancer, (PTL not in the severe stage.) I just felt very sober today also… I guess that is why I did the graphic I did today. I saw the woman in the picture, (I think it is a woman) going through a bad storm and a strong man, (angel?) right there with her helping to keep the boat from being overcome by the waves. All for now… tomorrow is a fresh day… His mercies are new every morning!
    Love, Bee

  • Oh I forgot to say.. most of my “scripture graphics” actually are photo-shopped old stock photos… (would be nice if I had taken them myself.. but maybe not this one haha) I used to do scripture graphics for a multimedia presentation at our church before the service, so I have these great C.D.s of copywrite free stock photos. Just thought I would add that note lest someone think I ripped off the pics.

I am still not sure if it is breaking copywrite to reprint a small news photo if the credits and the site reference is on there… I am thinking not… especially since it is not for commercial purposes.. but who knows these days! Anyway… I am rambling all over the net tonight.. cause I’ve got isomnia.. and you are the lucky victim! hahaha
    Love Ya, Bee

    You take care….

  • I also went into shock when I heard that Billy had died. And then on Wed., we lost a dear friend from church, who lost her battle with cancer, but is now truly healed & with her Savior! It does make one stop and consider the brevity of life! :(    :heartbeat: Carolyn
