What a topsy turvy day!!

Well we left Monday morning with Dave Kelly and Jayden for an overnight trip for some rest and relaxation before the next wave of weddings…didnt expect for the computer in our car to die and leave us stranded in Lake Tahoe as we were getting ready to head out to the desert to find a spot we heard about for a shoot. That was thwarted the minute we got in the car this morning and found the car dead as a doornail. Good thing for Dave and Kelly that they left early and came in their own car. After spending all day trying to find someone to even look at our car we ended up taking it to the dealership there for someone to eventually get to…finally the repairman got back to us to say it will take 3 days to 2 weeks for the part to come in. It is the main computer for most all things electrical! So we left the car there and rented one to come home in…blah! Hope you had a much nicer ending to your weekend…but hey tomorrow is a new day!

Uh oh!!!

Had breakfast with Jayden today! We went to Awful Annie’s and was it good! Jayden sat in a high chair and had so much fun looking at everyone and everything there. We had fun passing him around too, of course!

I just love his smile….

An interesting thing happened to me about a month ago. I got a call from a woman who said she bought my CD at a local Christian Bookstore. I was like wha???? After speaking to her for about 5 minutes we got it figured out. Back in 2003 or so I recorded some Cd’s. I got this inspiration in the middle of the night to make these CDs. I told Mark about it the next morning and within a week I had my first one outlined and Mark got things together for me to record soon after. In case you are thinking wow I didnt know Kerri sings! I don’t. I actually made these for listening to while meditating. Its scripture with music. So back to the phone call. One of the Cd’s made it to a bookstore via someone bringing in their copy and used it in a trade in. Well this woman found it in the used shelves and bought it brought it home and shared it with her sister. They were so blessed that they tracked me down. When she finally got ahold of me she was so pleased and asked if I had any more. I said I did I had made 3 altogether. She was ecstatic! It got me all excited again. I always felt God wanted me to make at least 2 more. Well Mark found them on the computer after much searching. He found some of my first photographic forays into flower photography and used them to make covers for the Cds. He just finished them and I am so blessed.

Anyway isnt that just a trip!? Now to find the lady’s phone number to tell her I have them done!

Today I got an email from my sister that an old friend Doreen, lost her youngest son in a car accident early this morning. I cannot fathom what her day was like today and forever. He was a passenger in the car that was reportedly traveling 100 miles an hour on Greenback Blvd at 1:45 a.m. The driver lives and is in the hospital with injuries but Jonathan is gone. He was 21 years old and they believe alcohol played a part.

Please pray for Doreen and her family. His younger sister Toni is devastated. He has two older brothers whom I am sure are as well. Doreen is the kind of woman who if this happened to you she would be the first one to show up at your house and cook and clean for you. I am just so sad for them.

Edit: The funeral is on Wed. at Miller’s Funeral Home in Folsom.

I just spent 3 days on one of our wedding albums…whew! I had to learn a new album design software program so we could offer them another album option that we don’t normally offer. So glad that is just about done. Just some tweaking and its off for the client to review and get it ordered! Its always like delivering a baby!

Now onto the next one now that the favorites are picked.

 Wow knee deep in album design but wanted to touch base with you lovely friends…

The big news aoround here is that Lindsay decided she wanted to start up with iStock. It is not easy to get in! She sent in a couple of shots and they got turned down but her second try she got in! Very picky but that is good! So she is happy and we are proud of her!!!

Okay back to designing!!!

Hey everyone! Thanks sooo much for your kind thoughts and prayers….It sure feels good to feel good again! Today was the first time I really felt normal in like weeks! we have a break here between weddings and I was bummed that I was spending it in bed. But its all good now!

We dont have alot to post since we are on break and I am working on albums right now…yep that comes after the wedding photos…I love this part! This is the creative design that intrigues me…I do love shooting but it is getting harder to do that in the Sacramento Valley heat! And I get to do it in the comfort of air conditioning and my comfy chair!

Just incase you gotta see pictures… I will post up a picture of my office and where Mark works. Fun huh? lol

Expecting Brian any minute he was out working with Randy today second shooting at one of his weddings. Cant wait to see what he got! It always sounds like we are out fishing when I say that. Yeah you just stick the pole out and drop the line in the water and wait to see what you get! hahahaha….JUST KIDDING!!!!! All our brides just had a heart attack! It takes more skill than that to get something you have in your head come to life in the camera…BELIEVE ME!

Hey all….

I ve been sick for over a week now and really needing to get better! I feel fluey (achey) and sleepy with lower back pain . Had this not long ago but just for a day or so. This is hanging on! Anyone know if this is going around!?

Hopefully I will be back up in a day or so!

Mark and the kids got to shoot Jen and Chris Stewart yesterday and I had to stay home… But I cant wait to see their family shoot! It was so hot out there so I hope they got some good stuff! I find for me shooting in the heat really curbs my creativity! Maybe in a few days we will have something up! They are such a young wonderful creative fun couple with great kids! Mark and Brian and Lindsay fell in love with them…

Hello all! Just a quick post today…We are busy getting ready for a meeting this morning but I did want to update some just “life stuff” happening…

Brian got his license! He also started a new job and enrolled in college so it has been a pivotal summer. He worked for Jamba Juice for a year and found a wonderful family owned coffee shop to work for as he goes to college. He also did his first solo wedding which he should be rolling out this weekend.

We are really happy with it …I have since moved the lamps off the bookshelf to give it all the space it needs. since it is a 24×36 it needs alot! 

We also did the 11x 14 below of the Todd wedding dance shot as well….

Okay well off to get ready…
